Wine translations in the heart of Hesse
To write convincingly about wine, you have to know your tannins from your terroir. And if you want to sell your products abroad, an intricate knowledge of your future clients’ culture is non-negotiable.
As a professional translator, native speaker of British English and WSET-certified wine expert, I don’t just translate your texts word for word. That won’t convince anyone. Instead, I draw on my years of hands-on wine experience and finely honed linguistic skills to bring your wines to life, whetting readers’ appetites and making them long for the first sip.
British by birth, German by choice
After graduating from the University of Manchester with a master’s degree in French and German, I went on to spend several years working in marketing and supply chain management for an international organisation, liaising closely with clients in Germany, France, Belgium, Norway, Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
I know what it takes to make your mark in different markets, a knowledge that has shaped and informed my career as a freelance translator in the beautiful city of Limburg an der Lahn. Close to the Rheingau, Mittelrhein and Mosel wine regions, I’m never far away from hundreds of winemakers – exactly how I like it!
Language and wine: the best of both worlds
As well as my native language, English, I also speak fluent German and French. I am a member of both the German translators’ association Bundesverband der Dolmetscher und Übersetzer (BDÜ) and the British Institute of Translation and Interpreting (ITI), including its Food & Drink, Marketing, and Beauty, Fashion & Luxury networks.
My in-depth knowledge of wine comes from completing the WSET® Level 1 and 2 exams at the Wine & Spirit Education Trust, as well as from extensive contact with winemakers and wine merchants, not to mention my own personal love of all things wine-related.
Stand out internationally with perfectly balanced messaging
From malolactic fermentation to carbonic maceration, I know the wine world inside out and can bring your words to life for the English-speaking world. The care and passion behind your wines deserve to resonate just as strongly in English as they do at home. Together, we can craft texts with a memorable finish – messaging that lingers long after reading.
